Albuquerque, NM (June 6, 2023) – One person suffered fatal injuries as a result of a truck accident that occurred on Sunday, June 4.
The crash was reported on Interstate 40 westbound between mile marker 233 and mile marker 234.
According to reports provided by the Torrance County Sheriff’s office, a semi-truck tractor-trailer and a second vehicle collided on the interstate. The impact of the crash caused the second vehicle to be trapped underneath the semi, prompting authorities to remove it.
The driver of the second vehicle was injured in the crash. The victim was transported by helicopter to the University of New Mexico Hospital, where they underwent emergency treatment.
A passenger in the second vehicle suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
