Anderson, IN - Parks Department Truck Crash at 19th St & Madison Ave Takes One Life

Anderson, IN (August 24, 2023) – A woman lost her life as a result of a truck accident that took place in Anderson on Wednesday afternoon, August 23.

At around 12:35 p.m., officers from the Anderson Police Department and firefighters responded to a crash that occurred on 19^th Street.

Investigations provided by the police show that a woman was riding a bicycle in the area of 19^th Street and Madison Avenue just southwest of downtown Anderson. For unknown reasons, she was struck by an Anderson Parks & Recreation Department truck.

The woman was severely injured due to the crash. Despite medical efforts, the victim, identified as a 38-year-old woman from Anderson, Indiana, passed away from her injuries.

The crash team with the Anderson Police Department is currently investigating the incident.
