Atlanta, GA (July 5, 2023) – A motor vehicle accident reported early Wednesday morning left three people injured.
On July 5, officers Atlanta Police Department were notified that a crash occurred on Interstate 285. Investigations determined that a semi-truck carrying cheese collided with a fire truck on the interstate near Jonesboro Road. The impact of the crash caused the cheese truck to spill cheese out all over the road, causing severe delays in the area.
Three firefighters were injured as a result of this crash. Medics provided treatment to the victims before transporting them to local hospitals.
At this time, investigations into the accident are underway.
Our thoughts go out to the injured victims and their families at this time.
Every year, countless victims in Georgia endure life-altering injuries due to motor vehicle accidents. Unfortunately, accidents involving semi-trucks tend to have more devastating consequences for those involved. The significant size and weight of these vehicles make them more likely to cause overwhelming pain and suffering, especially for occupants of smaller vehicles. When individuals sustain injuries in semi-truck accidents, they often need extensive medical treatment. Many victims require emergency surgery and are left to deal with permanent impairments that restrict their ability to engage in activities they once enjoyed.
Regrettably, many semi-truck accidents occur due to drivers’ negligent and reckless behavior. After suffering catastrophic injuries in these accidents, victims are often approached by insurance companies representing the at-fault parties. These insurance companies are known to offer minimal settlements for the injuries and damages suffered. Regrettably, accepting such settlements deprives victims of the full and fair compensation they deserve. Furthermore, it prevents them from pursuing legal claims against the at-fault parties in the future. It is disheartening that many victims accept these settlements to address their immediate needs without realizing the detrimental impact on their legal rights.
Instead of accepting a lowball offer from an insurance company, it is of utmost importance for those harmed to promptly seek the assistance of a truck accident attorney in Atlanta. By doing so, they can protect their legal rights and pursue the compensation they deserve. A dedicated legal team in your corner will provide you with the best chance of maximizing the compensation that you are able to collect from the negligent party for the losses and damages you face. This can include compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost earnings, and more.
