Belton, MO (August 3, 2023) – A major truck accident reported in Cass County on Tuesday afternoon left multiple people injured.
According to reports provided by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, a semi-truck and a train collided near the intersection of East 187th Street and Holmes Road. At the time of the accident, the semi-truck was traveling east along 187th Street, just east of Holmes Road. As the train proceeded forward, it was struck by the train.
The incident prompted the response of the Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Six people involved in the accident suffered injuries. Medical personnel responded to the scene to provide care and transportation for the injured victims to area hospitals.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
