Boise, ID – Teen Loses Life in Truck Accident on N 16th St near W Washington St

Boise, ID (August 5, 2023) – A 16-year-old boy lost his life as a result of a truck accident that occurred in the Boise area on Thursday, August 3.

At around 10:00 a.m., the Boise Police Department was dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle collision on North 16th Street.

Reports from authorities show that a 16-year-old was in the crosswalk at the intersection of North 16th Street and West Washington Street while riding a skateboard. For unknown reasons, a southbound truck struck the teen.

The teen suffered severe blunt force injuries due to the accident. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Ada County Coroner. A witness stated that the involved dump truck ran a red light at the intersection and struck the teen. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
