Cantonment, FL – Two Hurt in Rear-End Truck Crash on Highway 29 near Power Blvd

Cantonment, FL (June 18, 2023) – A truck crash reported in Escambia County ended in injuries.

According to reports provided by the Escambia County Sheriff’s office, a rear-end collision between a van and a dump truck occurred on Highway 29 just south of Power Boulevard. The incident blocked multiple lanes of the roadway near central commerce Park.

A 29-year-old man from the Fort Worth, Texas, area became trapped inside his vehicle. He had to be extricated by firefighters. The man was airlifted from the scene and flown to a hospital in Pensacola with critical injuries.

An 11-year-old male, who was a passenger in the van, suffered serious injuries. He was transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment.

Neither the driver nor the passenger in the dump truck suffered injuries.

At this time, the incident is being investigated.
