Chesterfield, NJ (August 18, 2023) – A fatal truck accident was reported in Burlington County on Wednesday morning, August 18.
At around 10:50 a.m., a man was driving a dump truck southbound on the New Jersey Turnpike. For unknown reasons, the vehicle became involved in a collision near mile marker 55.2. The Peterbilt dump truck overturned and went off the side of the roadway before striking a guardrail and a chain-link fence.
The driver of the dump truck suffered fatal injuries due to the crash. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by authorities.
Preliminary investigations show that the vehicle experienced a tire failure prior to the accident. At this time, the investigations are ongoing.
