Chicago, IL (September 10, 2023) – A major truck accident took place in the Chicago area on Friday morning that left one person injured.
At around 4:30 a.m. on September 8, the Illinois State Police responded to the scene of a crash on the Tri-State Tollway, Interstate 294.
According to reports provided by authorities, a semi-truck in a passenger car collided on the southbound side of the interstate. The impact of the crash caused the tractor-trailer to overturn and come to rest on its side. The passenger car went off the right side of the roadway.
One person involved in the crash was injured. The victim was transported to Christ Hospital for emergency medical treatment.
Authorities shut down the three left lanes of travel as tow trucks worked to remove the damaged vehicles.
Investigations into the crash are underway.
