Clark Township, IN (August 28, 2023) – A fatal crash reported in Johnson County claimed one woman’s lift. The accident occurred at around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday.
On August 27, the Indiana State Police responded to a crash that took place on Interstate 65.
Reports show that a car and a semi-truck collided on the southbound side of the interstate. The car became trapped under the semi-truck and caught on fire.
Authorities arrived at the scene and located the vehicle fully engulfed in flames.
Emergency officials shut down the highway between Whiteland Road and North Hurricane Road, at mile markers 93 and 95, as they worked to clear the scene.
A 23-year-old woman from Indianapolis, Indiana, was fatally injured in the accident. Authorities pronounced her deceased while at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
Police remained at the scene for over four hours as they worked to clear the road and investigate. Investigations are currently ongoing.
