Clermont, FL (June 10, 2023) – The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that three people died as a result of a major truck crash that took place in Lake County on Friday, June 9.
Florida Highway Patrol was notified of the crash at around 5:35 a.m.
Reports provided by authorities show that a collision involving a semi-truck and a Chevrolet Silverado took place on the northbound side of Florida State Route 33. The impact of the crash caused the pickup truck to proceed forward and strike an asphalt truck. The semi-truck overturned, and the asphalt truck ran off the roadway and crashed into a tree before overturning near Bakers Lane.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 21-year-old female, and two passengers in the vehicle, a 59-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman, all were fatally injured. The three victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
