Losing a loved one as a result of a fatal truck accident can have an immense and devastating impact on your family. Unfortunately, the United States witnesses thousands of lives lost each year due to these devastating accidents. There are many instances where these accidents are a direct result of negligence.
Driver fatigue stands as one of the primary factors contributing to fatal truck accidents. Exhausted drivers are more prone to making mistakes and exhibiting slower reflexes, which can significantly hinder their ability to react in time to avoid striking other vehicles.
Speeding also plays a significant role in many fatal truck accidents on our roadways. The pressure on truck drivers to meet strict deadlines often leads them to exceed speed limits. Regrettably, this often increases the chance of them losing control of their vehicles or being unable to stop in time to prevent crashing into others.
Distractions are another common cause of commercial truck crashes here in our state. When truck drivers take their attention off the roadway as a result of looking at their GPS, eating, or even using CB radios, there is an increased risk of accidents occurring. Additionally, improperly secured loads can shift during transport, potentially falling off trucks and causing accidents or obstructing roads entirely.
