Corpus Christi, TX – Two Killed in Truck Wreck on FM 624 near FM 70

Corpus Christi, TX (November 24, 2023) – Two people lost their lives as a result of a fatal crash that left one additional person wounded. The accident took place on Wednesday evening, November 22.

According to preliminary investigations provided by the Texas Highway Patrol, a 2019 Ford Expedition, which was occupied by an 18-year-old driver and their 19-year-old passenger, was traveling through the intersection of Farm to Market Road 624 and Farm to Market Road 70 just before 11:00 p.m.

As the vehicle proceeded forward, it collided with a crane truck, which was driven by a 48-year-old man. The SUV stopped on the northeast side of the road after catching on fire. The 19-year-old passenger died while still at the scene of the crash. Authorities confirmed that the victim was trapped inside.

The 18-year-old was severely hurt in the crash. The victim was transported to CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital-Shoreline for emergency care. Authorities confirmed that the victim is in critical condition. The driver of the crane truck incurred fatal injuries in the crash and died while at the scene. At this time, investigations into the crash are ongoing.
