Davie, FL – Fiery Truck Wreck on I-595 near Pine Island Rd Exit

Davie, FL (October 28, 2023) – A major truck accident reported in Davie on Thursday left one person injured. The accident was reported on Thursday, October 26.

According to reports provided by the Florida Highway Patrol, a tanker truck was carrying cooking oil on Interstate 595 while heading westbound in the Davie area. The tanker truck was involved in a collision. A tire failure caused the driver to lose control of their vehicle and crash, spilling oil across the highway in the area between the Pine Island Road exit and the Nob Hill Road exit.

The impact of the collision caused the truck to burst into flames. One person involved in the accident was severely burned. The victim was rushed by ambulance to Ryder Trauma's burn units for emergency treatment.

The incident caused severe delays in the area as emergency crews remained on-site for more than eight hours, clearing the roadway.

At this time, the incident is being investigated by the Florida Highway Patrol.
