De Soto, IA (August 19, 2023) – Two people lost their lives as a result of a truck accident in Dallas County on Thursday, August 17.
At around 11:25 p.m., the Iowa State Police responded to the scene of the crash that occurred on Interstate 80.
Police reports show that a semi was traveling eastbound on the interstate when it became involved in a collision. The vehicle then jackknifed, and the fuel tank ruptured. The truck caught on fire, causing significant damage.
Two people involved in the crash were fatally injured. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident is being investigated by the state police at this time.
