Fairfield, CT (October 12, 2023) – A pedestrian has died as a result of a truck accident that occurred on Wednesday morning in Fairfield.
The crash was reported at around 7:15 a.m. on October 11.
According to reports from the Fairfield Police Department, a garbage truck struck a 28-year-old worker during the morning hours while traveling in the area of Campfield Drive in Bloomfield Drive.
The garbage truck, which was from United Carting, remained at the scene. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of their injuries.
One person was transported to Bridgeport Hospital for medical care.
The accident is being investigated by the Fairfield police and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration at this time.
