Enduring the sudden and unexpected loss of a loved one as a result of a collision can be incredibly difficult. Unfortunately, thousands of people die every year as a result of truck accidents in the United States. There are many cases where people lose their lives in these accidents due to the negligent and reckless actions of motorists.
We often see fatal truck accidents take place as a result of drivers who are drowsy. When drivers are too tired to operate their vehicles, they are likely to fall asleep behind the wheel. As a result of falling asleep, trucks may enter into the opposite lane of travel and cause serious accidents. Another common cause of truck accidents is failure to yield. When truck drivers turn in intersections or switch lanes without yielding, they can cause serious accidents that ultimately take the lives of innocent people.
We see far too many truck accidents take place as a result of these actions as well as speeding, impairment, running red lights, and distractions. No matter how many laws we have in place to prevent people from engaging in reckless actions while behind the wheel, we continue to see innocent people pay the ultimate price.
