Farr West, UT (May 25, 2023) – Three people lost their lives, and two were left injured following a major truck accident that took place early Wednesday morning, May 24.
At around 2:45 a.m., the Utah Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a crash that occurred on Interstate 15.
Reports from authorities indicate that a red Nissan Altima was traveling north on the interstate when the vehicle hit a deer.
As a result of the crash, the Nissan slowed down and pulled into the right lane to exit the road.
As the vehicle moved over, it was struck by a Freightliner semi from behind.
Three people in the backseat of the Nissan were fatally injured. The victims were pronounced deceased on the scene.
Two other people, identified as the front seat passenger and
the driver, suffered serious injuries. The two victims were rushed to area hospitals for emergency care.
The Utah Department of Public Safety is currently investigating the crash.
