Each year, countless people end up passing away as a result of injuries that they suffer from pedestrian accidents. Fatal pedestrian accidents involving semi-trucks and large commercial vehicles can often have an overwhelming impact on families, who are often forced to overcome overwhelming emotional and financial struggles.
There are many instances where innocent pedestrians die due to drivers who engage in reckless and negligent actions while behind the wheel. Distracted drivers are one of the leading factors in fatal pedestrian crashes. Inattention due to phone use, talking with passengers, or other distractions can result in a driver failing to notice a pedestrian on the road until it is too late.
Impaired drivers, whether under the influence of alcohol or drugs, can also pose a serious threat to pedestrians. These drivers may have trouble staying in their lane, making turns, or stopping at intersections. As a result, we see many pedestrians die as a result of drivers who are impaired and unable to make sound decisions in order to avoid striking them.
In addition, drivers who fail to yield to pedestrians continue to cause fatal accidents here in the state of Florida. Whether they are speeding, running a red light, or failing to stop at a crosswalk, these drivers put pedestrians at risk.
