Our condolences are with the family of the victim who lost their life in this crash.
Fatal truck crashes take place far too often in the United States. These accidents take the lives of thousands of people annually. Many of these accidents are entirely preventable. Unfortunately, families who lose loved ones are often forced to deal with overwhelming consequences. To help alleviate some of the financial burdens that families face, they are able to file a wrongful death claim against the responsible party. After experiencing the unexpected loss of a loved one, families are able to seek compensation for some of the damages that they face.
In most cases, funeral costs can be claimed, which includes expenses such as caskets, funeral services, and burial services. In addition, lost earning capacity can also be claimed for those who may have been financially dependent on the deceased or relied on their income for support. This damage takes into account future earnings that would have been earned had the tragic accident not occurred.
Finally, property damage caused by the collision, such as car repairs or personal belongings destroyed in the crash, can also be compensated for through legal recourse.
Seeking guidance from a tractor-trailer accident lawyer can help to provide your family with the best opportunity of protecting your legal rights and getting justice. Your attorney will build a case on your behalf to improve your damages in order to maximize her recovery.
