Dealing with the overwhelming impact of a fatal collision can be quite challenging. Unfortunately, truck crashes take the lives of thousands of people across the United States each year. Here in North Dakota, we constantly see families forced to deal with the overwhelming consequences that fatal collisions bring.
Several factors contribute to fatal truck accidents, often involving driver error, mechanical failures, or hazardous road conditions. Speeding, reckless driving behaviors like tailgating, or distracted driving due to cell phone use are among the leading causes attributed to truck accidents. Additionally, inadequate vehicle maintenance and faulty equipment play a significant role in contributing to tragic outcomes on our roads.
After losing a loved one in a fatal truck crash, you have the ability to file a wrongful death claim against the responsible party. When it comes to truck accidents, liability typically extends beyond just the truck driver. It may involve trucking companies that fail to properly train the drivers or enforce safety protocols with their fleet. It can also include manufacturers who are responsible for producing the parts, especially if they are found to be defective.
