Truck Accidents in South Carolina

Greenwood, SC – Two Killed in Crash on S Emerald RdTruck accidents have the potential to cause severe injuries to those involved. Unfortunately, South Carolina is no stranger to seeing a significant number of people injured as a result of truck accidents every year. There are many instances where people are injured as a result of acts of negligence. Some of the leading factors that lead to truck accidents include:

  • Impaired driving: Operating a truck under the influence of drugs or alcohol can lead to catastrophic accidents. Unfortunately, impaired drivers often disregard stop signs at intersections, causing severe multi-vehicle truck accidents with devastating consequences.
  • Distracted driving: Some truck drivers engage in distracting behaviors, such as using cell phones or other devices while operating their vehicles. This distraction can lead to running through stop signs and colliding with other vehicles, resulting in severe multi-vehicle truck accidents.
  • Speeding: Excessive speed plays a significant role in many truck accidents, including multi-vehicle collisions observed throughout our state. When drivers exceed the speed limit, they may be unable to stop at stop signs and intersections, resulting in serious crashes with multiple vehicles involved.
  • Failure to yield: When drivers fail to yield the right of way, particularly when interacting with large trucks, it significantly increases the risk of severe collisions. Due to their size and weight, truck drivers require sufficient space and time to maneuver their vehicles safely.
