Gregg County, TX (July 5, 2023) – A major truck accident was reported in Gregg County that claimed the life of one woman.
According to preliminary investigations provided by the Texas Department of Public Safety, at around 7:15 p.m. on July 2, a Freightliner truck tractor-trailer was traveling south on Texas State Highway 42. For unknown reasons, the vehicle became involved in a collision with the 2012 Nissan Altima at the intersection of Texaco Road.
The driver of the Nissan, a 58-year-old woman from Longview, Texas, was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of her injuries.
The driver of the truck was transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment of injuries.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is currently investigating the crash.
