Hardin County, KY (June 28, 2023) – A truck accident involving multiple vehicles took place early Tuesday morning, June 27, that claimed one man’s life.
The accident was reported to the Hardin County Sheriff's Department at around 1:00 a.m.
Official reports indicate that a total of three semi-truck tractor-trailers collided on Interstate 65 near the Glendale exit. The incident blocked multiple lanes of the road.
Two of the involved trucks caught on fire as a result of the collision.
One man involved in the accident was fatally injured. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger in the man’s truck, identified as his wife, was injured. She was flown by helicopter to the University of Louisville Hospital for emergency treatment.
The driver of the second truck also suffered injuries and was transported by ambulance to Baptist Health Hospital, where they underwent further treatment.
At this time, investigations into the accident are underway.
