Truck accidents in the United States leave tens of thousands of people injured every year. There are countless instances where these crashes send innocent victims to area hospitals with significant injuries that affect their lives forever. Common injuries reported in motor vehicle accidents include:
Unfortunately, these injuries can require extensive medical care and force victims out of work for several weeks or even months after their accidents. After being injured in an accident, you have the ability to take legal action against the responsible party. There are several factors that need to be taken into consideration in order to determine the parties that may be held liable for the accident.
One important factor is the role of the truck driver. If the driver was negligent or responsible for causing the accident, they can potentially be sued for damages. Factors such as reckless driving, fatigue, or being under the influence of drugs or alcohol can all contribute to driver negligence.
Another factor is the responsibilities of the trucking company. In many cases, these companies have specific obligations when it comes to ensuring their drivers are properly trained and their vehicles are well-maintained. If they fail in these duties, they can also be held liable for any accidents that occur as a result.
Working with the truck accident lawyer will ensure a thorough investigation is performed to determine who is liable for the losses and damages you face.
