Jacksonville, FL (December 8, 2023) – A bus accident reported in the Jacksonville area on Thursday evening claimed one life. The crash was reported at around 5:30 p.m. on December 7.
According to reports provided by the Jacksonville Police Department, a Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) bus was traveling in the area of Old King Road when it attempted to make a left turn near an intersection. As a result, the bus collided with a pickup truck.
The driver of the pickup truck, identified as a 38-year-old male from Folkston, Georgia, suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. A second victim, identified as a 40-year-old male, was injured. The victim was transported to a local hospital for emergency care. Authorities confirmed that the 40-year-old man was on the bus at the time of the accident. At this time, investigations surrounding the accident are being performed.
