Kanawha County, WV (September 22, 2023) – A fatal truck accident reported in Kanawha County on Thursday claimed one person’s life during the early evening hours.
Just after four p.m. on September 21, the South Charleston Police Department responded to a crash that took place on Route 119.
Reports show that a fire truck and at least one other vehicle were involved in an accident on the roadway. Authorities arrived at the scene and located the fire truck, which had overturned off the side of the road near Childress Road.
One person in the second vehicle was fatally injured. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officers.
A firefighter was trapped in their vehicle and had to be extricated. The victim was transported to a nearby medical facility, where they were treated for their injuries.
