A truck accident can leave a profound impact on your life, causing significant physical, emotional, and financial hardships. Unfortunately, our state experiences a significant number of commercial truck crashes each year, affecting thousands of individuals. Many of these accidents can be attributed to negligence on the part of the truck drivers.
Crashes involving large trucks often occur when the driver disregards the established rules of the road, designed to ensure everyone's safety. Some common causes of big rig accidents include speeding, driving under the influence, distracted driving, and driver fatigue.
Excessive speed can impact a driver's ability to maintain control, particularly for large trucks that are significantly larger and heavier than other vehicles. Distracted driving is another prevalent cause, ranging from texting while driving to a lack of attentiveness on the road. Fatigue also poses a substantial risk, as tired drivers are more prone to making critical errors. There are also many instances where truck crashes occur as a result of negligent cargo loading practices. When cargo is not correctly and evenly loaded into a trailer, it can cause a serious shift in the trailer and cause the driver to lose control and crash. Regrettably, hundreds of people across California end up passing away due to truck crashes each year.
If you have lost a loved one as a result of a big rig accident, it is crucial to consult with an experienced commercial vehicle accident attorney. They can assist you in pursuing the compensation you deserve by filing a wrongful death claim against the responsible party. This type of claim aims to provide you with financial relief, alleviating some of the burdens you may face during the recovery process and beyond.
