Lexington, SC (June 28, 2023) – On June 27, emergency officials responded to the scene of a truck accident that took place during the afternoon hours and claimed one man’s life.
Reports provided by authorities indicate that a truck tractor-trailer and a tow truck collided on the westbound side of Fairfield Road during the afternoon hours. Authorities determined that a tractor-trailer was attempting to turn westbound onto Fairfield Road at the intersection of Bob Shumpert Road when it collided with a tow truck.
One person involved in the accident, identified as a 63-year-old man from Augusta, Georgia, was fatally injured. He was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash by the Lexington County Coroner.
The investigation to determine the cause of the crash is underway. No other injuries have been reported.
