Lost Creek, WV (May 30, 2023) – Two people were transported to area hospitals with injuries following a crash that took place in Harrison County on Monday, May 29.
At around 4:10 p.m., emergency officials were called to the scene of an accident on Interstate 79.
Reports from authorities indicate that a semi-truck tractor-trailer was involved in a collision on the northbound side of the interstate near mile marker 108. The crash resulted in the truck rolling over and striking a guardrail before sliding halfway down an embankment. Two other cars were involved in the accident.
The West Virginia Division of Highways, Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, Lost Creek Fire Department, Jane Lew Fire Department, Anmoore Fire Department, and Stonewood Fire Department all responded to the scene to provide assistance.
Two people suffered injuries as a result of the crash. Medics provided care to the injured victims before transporting them to local hospitals.
At this time, the circumstances surrounding the accident are being investigated by officials in Harrison County.
