Truck Accidents in New Jersey

Mahwah, NJ – Two Injured in Truck Accident on Route 17 near Mountainside AveMotor vehicle accidents can occur unexpectedly and often result in severe injuries. When it comes to accidents involving semi-trucks and commercial vehicles, the risk of sustaining catastrophic injuries significantly increases.

Even the most cautious, careful, and considerate drivers can find themselves involved in a collision with a commercial truck here in our state. Numerous factors contribute to these accidents on a daily basis. Key factors in truck accidents across the state include:

  • Shifting cargo: If the cargo shifts while the truck is in motion, it can disrupt the vehicle’s balance and lead to overturning or jackknifing. This is particularly dangerous on highways where speeds are high, and room for error is limited.
  • Brake failure: When a truck’s brakes malfunction, it can cause the vehicle to veer into other lanes or lose control completely. This poses a significant hazard, especially if the truck is transporting hazardous materials.
  • Poor road conditions: Broken roads and debris on the road can cause trucks to lose control and crash. Inadequate road conditions can quickly lead to a driver losing control of their vehicle and causing a serious crash.
