McKeesport, PA – Garbage Truck Crash on 13th St near Walnut St

McKeesport, PA (September 19, 2023) – A major accident reported in the McKeesport area left several people injured.

The accident occurred at around 12:40 p.m. on September 18.

Reports from the McKeesport Police Department show that a garbage truck was traveling on 13^th Street during the afternoon hours. For unknown reasons, the vehicle went down the hill and went through the intersection with Walnut Street.

As the vehicle passed through the intersection, it collided with a red pickup truck. The impact of the crash sent the garbage trucks through a fence at the Ryco Plumbing store before colliding with seven parked vehicles. The garbage truck then crashed through the building.

A total of four people were injured as a result of the crash. The victims were transported to local hospitals for emergency care.

The crash is currently being investigated.
