Milton, GA – Two Hurt in School Bus vs Garbage Truck Wreck on Birmingham highway near Batesville Rd

Milton, GA (August 5, 2023) – A major bus accident reported in the City of Milton left two people injured. The accident occurred on August 3.

According to reports provided by local news sources, a school bus and a garbage truck were involved in a crash on Birmingham Highway in the area near Batesville Road. The impact of the crash caused the school bus to overturn during the afternoon hours. A third vehicle was also involved in the accident.

The City of Milton Fire Department and area police responded to the scene to find multiple mangled vehicles blocking the roadway. Authorities went to work quickly on removing the debris and damaged vehicles from the scene.

Two people involved in the crash were rushed by ambulance to local medical facilities for emergency treatment of injuries.

Crews remained at the scene until 7:30 p.m. while working to clear the road and investigate. Investigations are currently ongoing.
