Milwaukee, WI (November 7, 2023) – A Milwaukee Police Department chief and officer both suffered injuries as a result of an automobile accident that occurred on the northwest side of Milwaukee on Monday, November 6.
The incident occurred just after 10:00 a.m.
According to official reports, the police chief was stopped at a red light while traveling east through the intersection of West Silver Spring Drive and North 68th Street. At the same time, a truck was traveling through the intersection. The vehicle seemed to slow down for the red light. However, it tried moving to a different lane when it collided with the rear end of the police SUV.
The police chief and a 56-year-old male officer were both transported to area hospitals for emergency medical care.
At this time, the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
