Monroe County, MO (May 23, 2023) – The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed that a 65-year-old man lost his life as a result of a truck accident that took place on Sunday evening, May 21.
At around 6:30 p.m., the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a crash on Highway 24.
Reports from authorities indicate that a tractor-trailer and a train collided on the highway during the evening hours. The impact of the crash resulted in dozens of train cars derailing.
A 65-year-old man involved in the accident was fatally injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
