Every year, thousands lose their lives, and tens of thousands suffer severe injuries in truck accidents across the United States. Many victims require extensive medical treatments, such as therapy and rehabilitation. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that individuals will recover from their injuries. There are countless cases where innocent people end up passing away following their accidents.
After losing a loved one in a truck accident, the families of victims must take legal action to secure the financial resources that they need moving forward. Compensation can cover medical expenses, lost income, and more. Unlike other types of motor vehicle accidents, truck accident claims often involve various individuals who may be identified as liable parties.
Typically, the truck driver is often listed as a leading factor in personal injury claims after truck accidents. If the driver’s actions, such as failure to yield, speeding, or other recklessness, contributed to the crash, they can be held accountable. Another common party identified in truck crash cases is the trucking company. If the company was negligent in hiring drivers or maintaining safety standards, they may bear liability for resulting damages. Additionally, cargo companies may be held liable if their negligence during cargo loading contributed to the crash taking place.
If you have sustained injuries in a truck accident, it is imperative to consult a tractor-trailer accident lawyer. Your attorney will initiate an investigation to establish liability for the injuries and damages you’ve endured.
