Nassau County, FL (October 8, 2023) – A fatal truck accident reported in Nassau County claimed the life of a 16-year-old female on Friday morning, October 6.
According to reports provided by the Florida Highway Patrol, a 16-year-old was driving a Toyota sedan on Turning Leaf Road. As she attempted to turn onto Lem Turner Road, her vehicle was struck by a semi-truck.
The teen was severely hurt in the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of her injuries.
A passenger in the Toyota, a 15-year-old male, was critically injured. He was rushed to an area hospital for emergency care.
The driver of the semi-truck, a 48-year-old, was not injured in the crash.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
