Newark, NJ (August 1, 2023) – A truck accident was reported in the Newark area that ended in injuries. The accident was reported to the police at around 9:30 p.m. on July 30.
According to reports from the Newark Police Department, a firetruck was responding to a fire alarm in the area. As the vehicle passed through the area of Lafayette Street and Mulberry Street, it was involved in a collision with a second vehicle. The impact of the crash caused the vehicle to overturn in the area near the Prudential Center.
The driver of the second vehicle initially fled the scene of the crash. However, they later returned to a hospital for medical care.
Two passengers and three firefighters were also injured in the crash and transported to area medical facilities for care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
