Phoenix, AZ – Truck Accident with Injuries Reported on Indian School Rd near 70th Ave

Phoenix, AZ (July 5, 2023) – On Tuesday evening, officers with the Phoenix Police Department and firefighters were called to the scene of a major accident that took place during the evening hours.

At around 5:00 p.m. on July 4, a fire truck and a dark-colored SUV collided on Indian School Road near 70th Avenue. Preliminary investigations provided by authorities show that a dark-colored SUV was heading east along Indian School Road. As the vehicle stopped at the intersection of 70^th Avenue, two vehicles were positioned behind it.

For unknown reasons, a dark-colored SUV was traveling east along the same road when it crashed into one of the stopped vehicles. The impact of the crash pushed the car into the one in front of it, causing it to subsequently strike a dark-colored SUV at the intersection. The SUV was pushed out into the intersection of the roadway, where it collided with a Phoenix fire truck.

The vehicle was pushed several feet ahead on the road before coming to rest.

The firefighter and three other victims suffered injuries as a result of this accident. The four victims were transported to local hospitals, where they underwent emergency care.

The police department is currently investigating the incident.
