Phoenix, AZ (November 1, 2023) – On Tuesday morning, October 31, troopers with the Arizona Department of Public Safety were called to the scene of an automobile accident that took place in the Sun Lakes neighborhood.
The crash occurred at around 7:30 a.m.
Reports provided by the Arizona Department of Transportation show that a commercial truck was traveling on the westbound side of Interstate 10 during the morning hours. For unknown reasons, the truck driver failed to stop and crashed into multiple other vehicles near Riggs Road. The truck driver fled the scene of the crash.
Authorities arrived at the scene and located at least three vehicles blocking multiple lanes of the road. Several victims were injured in the crash. Medics were called to care for the injured victims while on site. Those who required further medical care were transported to local hospitals.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety is actively investigating.
