Fatal Truck Accidents in New Hampshire

Pinkham's Grant, NH - Woman Killed in Truck Crash on Route 16Statistics from 2022 indicate that a total of 219 people died as a result of fatal collisions that occurred on the state’s roads. Unfortunately, between 2019 and 2021, the number of fatal collisions reported in the state has increased by approximately 24 percent. In many cases, we see individuals lose their lives as a result of negligent and reckless drivers. Common factors include:

  • Overloaded cargo: Trucks that carry excessive or improperly loaded cargo can become unstable, making it difficult for drivers to control their vehicles and increasing the risk of accidents.
  • Inadequate maintenance: Neglecting to maintain and inspect the truck's brakes, tires properly, and other critical components can lead to mechanical failures and accidents.
  • Speeding: Truck drivers who travel above the posted speed limits or travel too fast for weather conditions can lose control of their vehicles, leading to accidents.
  • Fatigue: Truck drivers may drive for long hours without adequate rest, leading to drowsiness and reduced reaction times. This can have a significant impact on the ability of drivers to maintain control of their vehicles.
  • Ignoring traffic laws: Running red lights, disregarding stop signs, or failing to yield the right-of-way can lead to collisions involving trucks.
