Plainfield, IN – One Killed, Two Hurt in Seven-Vehicle Truck Crash on I-70

Plainfield, IN (May 30, 2023) – A crash involving multiple vehicles took place just outside of Indianapolis on Saturday, May 27, that claimed one person’s life.

According to officials, a total of three semi-truck tractor-trailers in four other vehicles collided on Interstate 70 during the afternoon hours. One car overturned as a result of the accident and caught on fire. The driver of the vehicle was trapped inside.

The incident blocked multiple eastbound lanes on the interstate for over six hours as emergency crews worked to clear the road. Debris scattered everywhere on the highway.

The Indiana State Police responded to the scene to provide assistance.

One person involved in the accident suffered fatal injuries. Two other victims were injured as a result of the crash. The victims were transported to area hospitals for emergency care.

At this time, the state police are investigating the crash.
