Pomona, CA (July 4, 2023) – One person sustained fatal injuries as a result of a truck crash that took place on Sunday evening, July 2.
The California Highway Patrol was summoned to the crash site at approximately 10:00 p.m. Sunday evening.
Reports provided by CHP show that a flatbed tow truck and a minivan collided on the southbound side of the 71 Freeway during the evening hours. The incident, which occurred in a construction zone, caused delays in the area of Rio Rancho Road.
One person involved in the crash lost their life as a result of the injuries they suffered. Additional victims were injured and had to be transported to local hospitals for emergency treatment.
At this time, investigations surrounding the cause of the collision are underway.
