Fatal Truck Accidents in Texas

Port Arthur, TX – Two Killed, Three Hurt in TX-73 Truck Wreck near W Port Arthur RdFatal truck accidents claim the lives of hundreds of people in Texas every year. Sadly, innocent lives are lost due to the negligence and recklessness of certain truck drivers. Several common factors contribute to fatal truck accidents in our state, including:

  • Failing to maintain a single lane of travel: This is a common concern for all drivers, but it poses an even greater danger when it comes to trucks. Truck drivers have a duty to consistently control their vehicles, and failing to do so puts other drivers at risk.
  • Speeding: Pressure to meet deadlines often results in truck drivers speeding the speed limits. Unfortunately, the size and weight of trucks already pose significant risks. When these massive vehicles speed, the consequences can be devastating.
  • Distractions: Given the long hours spent on the road, truck drivers can easily become distracted. When truck drivers engage in activities that take their attention off the road, the results can be disastrous.
