Truck Accidents in Rhode Island

Portsmouth, RI – Four-Vehicle Truck Wreck on E Main Rd Leaves Two InjuredTruck accidents cause thousands of injuries and deaths across the United States every year. The unfortunate truth is that many of these accidents are entirely preventable. We see countless people suffer serious injuries as a result of negligence.

One significant cause of truck accidents is driver fatigue. Truck drivers often face long hours on the road, leading to exhaustion and decreased alertness. Drowsy driving can result in delayed reaction times, impaired decision-making, and even falling asleep at the wheel.

Another common cause is distracted driving. With technology advancements, distractions such as cell phones and radio systems have become prevalent among all drivers, including truckers. Taking their eyes off the road for a few seconds can lead to severe consequences.

Poor vehicle maintenance also plays a role in many truck accidents. Neglected brakes or tires that are not properly inflated increase the risk of a collision due to reduced stopping distance or loss of control.

Finally, it is all too common for innocent people to suffer injuries as a result of an overloaded truck accident. When cargo companies fail to adhere to the guidelines when loading trailers, it can cause an imbalance, which can result in a tip over.
