Every year, tens of thousands of semi-truck accidents resulting in serious injuries are reported across the United States. Here in Florida, we see a significant number of innocent people harmed as a result of collisions. Far too often, accidents that take place in Florida are preventable. Innocent people are routinely harmed as a result of drivers who are reckless and negligent while behind the wheel. We see many people hurt as a result of drivers who are speeding, distracted, or otherwise negligent.
After being hurt in a truck accident, victims have the ability to file a personal injury claim against the responsible party. Unlike other types of collisions, truck accidents tend to be far more complex due to the fact that several parties can be held liable for any accident. In truck accidents, the truck driver is often identified as a liable party. This is due to the fact that some form of negligence while behind the wheel is often a contributing factor in these accidents.
In addition, the truck company may be held liable if the drivers that they hired were unqualified to operate the vehicles. They can also assume liability if they were negligent in maintaining a vehicle or they failed to supervise the drivers correctly. Other parties who can be held liable for truck accidents include maintenance companies, cargo-loading companies, and even government entities. After the accident, it is vital to seek guidance from a truck accident lawyer in Quincy as soon as possible. An attorney will be able to help you build a case against the responsible party and fight for the maximum possible compensation for your losses and damages.
