Reading, MA (September 29, 2023) – A fatal truck accident was reported in the writing area that claimed one person’s life.
The Massachusetts State Police responded to the scene of the accident on September 28.
According to official reports, a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck in a box truck collided on Interstate 93 in Reading, Massachusetts. The incident caused delays in the area near the ramp for Commerce Way.
The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as a 41-year-old man from Tewksbury, Massachusetts, was fatally injured. He was pronounced deceased on-site by responding officers.
The driver of the box truck, a 51-year-old from Wilder, Vermont, was not injured.
Further investigations show that the box truck crashed into the rear of the pickup truck.
Authorities shut down the roadway for approximately three hours while working to clear the site.
The accident is currently being investigated by the State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section, the State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
