Richmond, VA – Injuries Follow I-95 Crash near Maury St Exit

Richmond, VA (October 4, 2023) – Injuries were reported as a result of a crash involving four vehicles that took place on Tuesday afternoon in the Richmond area.

The Virginia State Police and local firefighters were called to the scene of the accident at around 12:20 p.m. on October 3.

VSP reports indicate that a 2006 Dodge Ram pickup truck had stopped in the left lane of Interstate 95 as a result of having a flat tire. A 2024 Chrysler Pacifica approached the Dodge and stopped in the left lane nearby.

A white 2012 Nissan Altima was also traveling on the northbound side of the roadway. The vehicle attempted to move to the center lane in order to pass the two vehicles when it became involved in a collision with a 2020 Freightliner box truck.

After impact, the Nissan crashed into the Dodge. The vehicle then spun out and was struck by a black Dodge Ram pickup truck.

The incident blocked all of the northbound lanes of travel near the exit for Maury Street.

The driver of the Nissan suffered serious injuries and was transported to VCU Medical for emergency care.

At this time, the crash is being investigated.
