Richmond, VA (October 4, 2023) – Injuries were reported as a result of a crash involving four vehicles that took place on Tuesday afternoon in the Richmond area.
The Virginia State Police and local firefighters were called to the scene of the accident at around 12:20 p.m. on October 3.
VSP reports indicate that a 2006 Dodge Ram pickup truck had stopped in the left lane of Interstate 95 as a result of having a flat tire. A 2024 Chrysler Pacifica approached the Dodge and stopped in the left lane nearby.
A white 2012 Nissan Altima was also traveling on the northbound side of the roadway. The vehicle attempted to move to the center lane in order to pass the two vehicles when it became involved in a collision with a 2020 Freightliner box truck.
After impact, the Nissan crashed into the Dodge. The vehicle then spun out and was struck by a black Dodge Ram pickup truck.
The incident blocked all of the northbound lanes of travel near the exit for Maury Street.
The driver of the Nissan suffered serious injuries and was transported to VCU Medical for emergency care.
At this time, the crash is being investigated.
We hope the injured victim recovers quickly.
Automobile accidents take place far too often in the state of Virginia. In fact, they are the cause of thousands of injuries every year. When it comes to truck accidents, the focus is often on the negligence of the truck driver. However, it is important to remember that other drivers sharing the road can also be held liable for causing these devastating accidents.
If you have been harmed in a truck accident and believe that another driver played a role in causing the collision, you have the right to file a personal injury lawsuit against them. This legal action allows you to seek compensation for your injuries, medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and more.
To establish liability against another driver, evidence must be presented showing that their actions or negligence directly contributed to the accident. This could include things like distracted driving, such as texting or talking on a phone, reckless driving, such as speeding or aggressive maneuvers, failure to yield right-of-way, or driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Working with an experienced truck accident lawyer is crucial in building a strong case against negligent drivers. They will investigate all aspects of your accident, including gathering witness statements, reviewing police reports, obtaining video surveillance footage if available, and consulting with experts if necessary.
