Riggins, ID – One Killed in Multi-Vehicle Truck Accident on US-95

Riggins, ID (August 4, 2023) – A truck accident was reported on Thursday evening in Central Idaho that claimed one person’s life.

According to reports from state officials, at around 9:25 p.m. on August 3, a 1995 International tractor was pulling a car hauler trailer north on US Highway 95. For unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed over the center line and struck a 2022 Chevrolet Trax head-on. The impact of the crash sent the Chevrolet down a steep embankment off the side of the road. The semi-truck caught on fire, as did multiple vehicles that it was hauling.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a 54-year-old woman, was rushed by ambulance to an area hospital for emergency care. She later died from her injuries. The truck driver was treated for minor injuries.

At this time, the incident is being investigated.
