A motor vehicle crash contained your life in an instant. Unfortunately, hundreds of thousands of people in California are left with serious injuries due to the negligence of others. After being hurt in a truck accident, you may be able to pursue compensation from the responsible party.
To file a personal injury claim, you will need to prove that the other driver was at fault for the accident and that your injuries were caused by their negligence. To do this, you will need to gather evidence such as police reports, witness statements, and medical records. Once you have collected this evidence, you will need to file a lawsuit against the other driver in civil court.
If you win your case, the other driver will be required to pay for your medical costs, lost earnings, vehicle repair expenses, and pain and suffering. If you have suffered serious injuries, you may also be able to recover punitive damages.
If you are successful in your claim, the insurance company will pay for the damage to your vehicle. However, if you are not successful, you may need to pursue a lawsuit in civil court.
