Fatal Truck Accidents in Pennsylvania

Sandy Township, PA – Woman Loses Life in Delivery Truck Wreck on Dubois Rockton RdFatal truck accidents in the United States are responsible for thousands of deaths every year. Here in Pennsylvania, we see a significant number of these accidents involve some form of negligence. Leading factors in these fatal collisions include:

  • Driver Error: Despite the significant size of commercial vehicles, there is a concerning trend of truck drivers engaging in reckless behavior. Many drivers push themselves to the limits, driving while drowsy in order to meet demanding mileage targets set by their companies. Additionally, some drivers operate their trucks under the influence of substances or while distracted, further increasing the risk of accidents.
  • Poorly Maintained Trucks: Given the extensive mileage covered by trucks on a weekly basis, it is crucial that they receive proper care and maintenance. Failure to do so can rapidly transform them into hazardous vehicles. While worn-out brake pads or a cracked windshield require attention in smaller vehicles, these same issues can escalate into major traffic accidents when it comes to trucks.
  • Improperly Loaded Cargo: Loading cargo onto commercial trucks requires meticulous attention and proper practices. If cargo is improperly loaded, it can spill onto the road, leading to accidents and injuries. Ensuring proper loading practices is essential for preventing devastating truck accidents.
